From 2 June 2010, Thai Airways is to resume direct flights to Johannesburg, South Africa as part of the airline’s network growth to boost connectivity of its intercontinental and regional flights.

This new addition means THAI now serves 5 continents – Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, and Africa. As well as providing a service to a rising number of passengers, they also plan to provide the air cargo market on the Bangkok-Johannesburg roundtrip route.

South Africa has a strong national economy, trade, and investment, with Johannesburg the gateway to South Africa making it more convenient for passengers with onward connections to other South African cities. It also takes place just in time for football fans who want to attend the World Cup 2010, from 11 June-11 July 2010.

There will be 4 flights a week route v.v. on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, with a flight time of 11 hours. The aircraft is a Boeing 777-200ER aircraft with 292 seats, organized into 30 seats in Royal Silk Class and 262 seats in Economy Class.
